 Gaffney's Wine Bar is owned and operated by Robert and Donna Gaffney, with their 17-plus years of experience owning and running a wine bar. Gaffney's has received top billing by Sunset Magazine as one of the three great winebars in S. California, the other two being in Hollywood and W. LA. In addition, Gaffney's was voted #1 City's Best 2007 wine bar by AOL Cityguide.
Gaffney's is best known for:
- Premium small producers' wines by the glass and half-glass
- General wine list changes bi-weekly; different wine flights nightly
- "Eight is Enough!" Our Policy Since 1992: $8 corkage fee, and $8 discount for retail sales.

We carry an extensive list of wines from all over the world for you to taste in-house, or take home to enjoy. We serve hand-selected tasting flights that change daily. Don't be afraid to ask! We'll be happy to recommend something to suit your palate or suggest a good bottle to try at home.
Our History
After years in the San Francisco area, Donna and Robert moved south to open their wine bar in Santa Rosa in 1992. Donna also worked for 6 years at the London Wine Bar (the first wine bar in the United States, opened 1973) while Robert garnered wine experience working for small local San Francisco wine brokers. After 7 productive years in Sonoma County, the proverbial "Seven Year Itch" and the coastal lure of Encinitas led the Gaffneys to relocate in February 2000. Since then, Gaffney's has been a favorite for locals and visitors alike, and the wine bar's fans continue to grow in the newest location in the Encinitas Marketplace.
